Unless otherwise specified, breakfast is at 8:00 AM at the restaurant listed and hikes begin at 9:00 AM. Wear clothing in layers suitable for the weather. Trails may be icy, wear appropriate footwear (i.e. crampons). Hike leaders may refuse participation by unprepared hikers. If at least four inches of snow are on the ground the hike may be replaced by cross-country skiing or snow showing. Rain cancels. If in doubt about the conditions, contact the hike leader.

Fall/Winter 2018 Saturday Hikes

January 26: “Kennedy Park” – Meet at 8:00 to carpool from Friendly’s – on (Route 202), 21 Southampton Rd, Westfield, MA 01085, breakfast at Roses Restaurant, 160 Housatonic St, Lee, MA 01238. Hike John Drummond Kennedy Park, 275 Main St., Lenox, MA. Approx. 3 hrs. Bring spikes, poles, snowshoes if snow is deep, snacks, water, and warm clothes. Dog Friendly. Winter 2019 Saturday Hikes

February 9: "The Notch Hike" - Meet at Atkins Farms, 1151 West St, Amherst, MA for breakfast. Drive to the Notch Visitors Center, 1500 West St, Amherst, MA, hike around the Notch. February 23: “M&M Trail” Meet at Little Georges, 2648 Westfield St, West Springfield, MA for breakfast. Leave from the parking lot at 9:00 am and drive to the Trail Head. We will hike the M&M trail from RT. 187 in Westfield to Mountain Rd. in Suffield. As this is a through hike, we will need to spot cars at the end. March 2: “Toby Mt.”  Meet at Bridge Side Grill (RT. 116), 9 Amherst Rd, Sunderland, MA for breakfast, then at 9:00 carpool to MT Toby, Reservation Rd (RT 47N), Sunderland, MA. Moderately strenuous long hike with steep climb to summit 3 hours. Snowshoes or XC ski if there is snow. Wear appropriate footwear, micro spikes, hiking poles and clothing for the weather conditions.
