Wednesday rides are leisurely. Individuals meet at 8:00 AM for breakfast at the designated restaurant. Rides begin at 9:00 AM  when the meeting place is a restaurant.

September October WEDNESDAY RIDES

Wednesday rides are leisurely. Riders meet at 8:00 AM for breakfast at the designated restaurant or at a parking area from which to ride to breakfast. If the meeting place is at the restaurant, the ride begins at 9:00 AM.

September 3: Meet for 8:00 AM breakfast at Sully’s Restaurant, 235 Russell Street (Rte 9) in Hadley, MA. Then park the cars at the nearby Mountain Farms Mall (next to Marshalls). The 9:00 AM ride will be to Leverett and back, 25 to 30 miles, flat to rolling terrain. Ray Bourbeau, (413) 265-5047).

September 10: Meet at the Green in Brimfield, MA, 8:00 AM for breakfast (at the diner across from the Green), or 9:00 AM for the ride. A scenic 30 mile tour through Brookfield and Warren with only a few hills. Don Maynard, (413) 525-3464.

September 17: Meet at Reid’s Country Corner Restaurant at the Hampden Mini-Mall for breakfast. Then a 30 mile ride to northern Connecticut, through Somers and Ellington. Just a few hills, but mostly flat to rolling. Vincent Mandolini, (413) 566-3014.

September 24: We’ll meet at the Blue Bonnet Diner, 342 King Street, Northampton. We can park at Stop & Shop,

behind the Liquors 44 Store (228 King Street), adjacent to the Northampton Bike Trail. Riders can then ride the short distance to the diner. The route for the 9:00 AM ride will be "table top" flat, passing through Hatfield, Whately and Sunderland. 25-30 miles. Ken Blair (413) 527-5717.

October 1: Breakfast at Friendly’s Restaurant, 19 Springfield Street (Rte 147), Agawam—just south of the bridge near the Exposition Grounds. Ride to Windsor Locks through Suffield by backroads. About 30 miles, pretty much flat. Pat Culloo (413) 592-6985.

October 8: Breakfast at Friendly’s Restaurant, Rte 5 in Holyoke. From there we’ll convoy to Hampton Ponds Plaza, Rte 202, in Westfield. The Ride will be a new route to Easthampton, including a tour of Nonotuck Park. Flat to rolling terrain, 25 miles. Ray Bourbeau, (413) 265-5047).

October 15: Meet at Shermans’—57 High Street, Palmer, MA at 8:00 AM. Bike 8 miles to Girly’s Grill, West Warren, for breakfast. Then on to Warren, Brimfield, and eventually back to Palmer. About 25 colorful autumn miles. Ken Sherman, (413) 283-7386.

October 22: Breakfast at the River Shark Restaurant on Rte 63 near the corner of Meadow/Pine Street, North Amherst. (Park cars at the nearby Mill River Recreation Area and walk back the short distance to the restaurant). The ride will go through Leverett, Rattlesnake Gutter, Lake Pleasant (Bridge of Names), to Hadley and return—about 25 miles or so. A few hills, but nothing to worry about. Al Shane, (413) 548-9435.

October 29: Meet for breakfast at Norcross Restaurant, 125 Main Street, Monson. (Plenty of parking to the rear of the restaurant). The ride will be on back roads toward Sturbridge, about 30 miles, with a few hills here and there. Don Maynard, (413) 525-3464.
